Police investigating fatal crash in Springwater Township

Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a single-vehicle within Springwater Township.

On Wednesday, April, 27, 2022, at approximately 7 p.m. members from the Huronia West OPP responded to a 911 call in relation to a vehicle rollover on Vespra Valley Road.

Police attended the scene along with Springwater Fire and Simcoe County Ambulance where a black Chrysler 200 was located along with a lone male occupant with no vital signs. Despite extensive life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, the driver was pronounced at scene.

Their name is being withheld pending family notification. Vespra Valley Road between Mayer Road and Snow Valley Road is currently closed for the investigation and will remain so for five to seven hours. OPP Central Region Traffic Reconstruction members will be attending the scene to assist in determining what caused the collision.

Police are asking for any witnesses to the accident or anyone who may be in possession of dash cam footage to contact them immediately. Police are also asking residents in the area who may have home surveillance footage to please review it and contact police if anything is observed that may be able to assist with the investigation.
