Police charge Meaford man with assault, mischief

Police received a call about someone disturbing the police, and officers report multiple crimes had been committed

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a Meaford man with assault, mischief, and breach of probation after responding to a call about a "disturbance" in Meaford. 

Police did not specify the nature of the disturbance, but report that the call came in at about 11:50 p.m. on Jan. 20.

"Through investigation, officers determined that several criminal offences had taken place," states a news release from the Grey Bruce OPP. 

Police charged a 34-year-old man from Meaford with mischief, failing to comply with a probation order, and three counts of assault.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
