Police charge man with drunk driving, resisting peace officer

The arrest and charges were the result of a report of a 'disturbance' in Meaford on Feb. 10 in the afternoon

Officers from the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police charged a 37-year-old man with impaired driving and resisting a peace officer after a report of a disturbance in Meaford on Feb. 10. 

According to a news release from OPP, police were called at 1:04 p.m. for a disturbance, but police didn't give details on what kind of disturbance. 

"Police arrived on scene and discovered the accused had left in a motor vehicle," states the news release. "The accused was located a short time later, where they were taken into custody after a brief struggle."

Police charged the 37-year-old with

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired (80 plus)
  • Resist peace officer
  • Flight from peace officer

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
