Pilot suffers minor injuries in plane crash

GREY HIGHLANDS - On July 14, 2019 just before 9 a.m. the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended Grey Road 13, North of Eugenia in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, for a report of plane crash.  

The Grey Bruce OPP, Grey Highlands Fire Department, and Grey County Paramedic Services attended the scene involving a small plane described as a Piper PA12. The plane had been travelling westbound and attempted to land on a grass landing strip when the plane crashed into a fence and came to a rest in a ditch.

The male pilot was the only occupant in the plane and was transported to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. The Ministry of Natural Resources as well as the Transport Safety Board of Canada were notified of the plane crash.

Transport Safety Board of Canada is continuing the investigation of this crash.
