Pickup driver causes number of crashes, including an OPP cruiser, before running into ditch

WASAGA BEACH, ON - Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist with a pickup truck, driving erratically, on Baseline Road South, in Tiny Township, shortly after 4 p.m. today.

The suspect vehicle fled the area at high speed and was later observed by members of the Huronia West Detachment.

The truck caused a number of crashes, including a collision with an OPP cruiser.

Police discontinued following the suspect, because of concern for public safety. A short time later the truck ran into a ditch and the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

Police have been able to identify and arrest the occupants of the pickup truck. No injuries were reported during this incident, further information will be made available as the investigation continues.
