OPP searching for suspect in Stayner Circle K robbery

STAYNER - On March 14, 2020, at 3:56 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a robbery at the Circle K convenience store located at 7380 Highway 26, in the Township of Clearview.

An unknown suspect wearing a black balaclava entered the store and tried to open the till before the clerk returned to the counter. When the clerk returned a brief exchange occurred, and the suspect removed cash from the till and fled the store on foot.

OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Canine Unit members attended the scene to assist with a search of the area.

The suspect was described as a male, approximately 5-foot-9 - 5-foot-10, wearing:  

  • Beige/tan coloured jacket  
  • Black hooded sweater underneath  
  • Black pants  
  • Black shoes  
  • Black gloves
