COLLINGWOOD, Ont. - Detectives from the Crime Unit of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their investigation of a reported sexual assault from February 2018 and are now looking for a potential witness to assist in the matter.
The incident took place on Feb. 26, 2018 on the walking trail in the area of Huron Street and Niagara Street in the Town of Collingwood where, shortly before 6:00 p.m., a female was approached by an unknown male and sexually assaulted.
Police are now trying to identify a person who assisted the female in distress shortly after the incident took place. This person is described as being male, approximately 6-feet tall wearing a beige jacket, red scarf and dress pants, last seen walking west bound in front of the Sobeys grocery store on Huron Street.
