Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind residents to be aware of their sources for news and the validity of incidents posted online.

OPP and media partners work hand in hand in updating the public with safety concerns that could pose a threat to the public and no doubt, when such a threat exists, the OPP would notify our media partners who in turn would notify their viewers and online followers.

If you would like to report an incident, please call the OPP Provincial Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also leave an anonymous tip online at https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca
