OPP make arrest in 'high-risk' situation in South Bruce

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On Aug. 19, 2019 at 11:55 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a high risk situation, involving a weapon, at an address at Bruce Road 8, South Bruce Peninsula.

OPP secured the area surrounding the residence. As a result Bruce Road 8, between Bruce Road 14 and Municipal Road, was closed to any traffic.

On August 20, 2019 at 6:59 a.m. an individual at the residence was taken into custody by members of OPP Emergency Response Team.

A 37 year old individual from South Bruce Peninsula was arrested by officers at the scene and remains in custody with Grey Bruce OPP. Charges are expected to be laid at a bail hearing later today. There are no public safety issues remaining with regards to this incident.

Grey Bruce OPP, with assistance from Grey Bruce OPP Community Street Crime Unit, OPP ERT and OPP K9, have executed a search warrant on the residence. On Aug. 21, 2019 OPP will resume the search of the residence for evidence relating to this incident.
