OPP investigate shooting at Wasaga home

Female victim suffered gunshot wound and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries in hospital and released, police say

Huronia West OPP is now investigating a shooting at a Wasaga Beach home that left one woman injured. 

Police received 911 call at July 14 at 10:54 p.m. about a shooting at a home on Bianca Crescent. At the scene, OPP found an adult woman who had suffered a gunshot wound. 

According to a news release from police, the woman was taken to hospital, treated, and released for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The OPP Canine Unit was called to the scene to assist the emergency response team, but no suspects were located. 

According to police, the suspects were believed to have fled northbound in the area of Allegra Drive. 

"Investigators believe that this is not random, but rather a targeted, isolated incident that remains under investigation," stated the news release. 

OPP issued a reminder to the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times. 

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking any witnesses to come forward by contacting police at 1-888-310-1122, or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers via phone at 1-800-222-8477, or online. 

"If any member of the public has video surveillance capturing anything suspicious, please contact investigators," stated the news release. 

Police say more information will be provided as it becomes available.
