Meaford search warrant leads to drug charges

MEAFORD - On Sept. 23, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members executed a search warrant at a property along Sykes Street in Meaford.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized a quantity of methamphetamine. The estimated value of the seized controlled substance is $4,200.

Police also seized offence related property including: digital scales, cell phones and meth pipes.

Two people are facing charges as a result of this police investigation.

Stephan Lohwinow, 52 years old from the Municipality of Meaford, was charged with:
    •    possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
    •    unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2021 to answer to the charges.

Michael Churchill, 40 years old from the Town of Collingwood, was charged with:
    •    possession of methamphetamine

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2021 to answer to the charges.
