Meaford driver charged after collision between cyclist, vehicle

Police say the cyclist was transported to a local area hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries

A driver has been charged in relation to a collision involving a cyclist in the Municipality of Meaford.

On Aug. 18, 2022, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police, Inter Township Fire Department, and Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a report of a collision involving a cyclist and a motor vehicle on Grey Road 15 in the Municipality of Meaford.

The cyclist was transported to a local area hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the motor vehicle, a 34-year-old from the Municipality of Meaford has been charged with the following offences:

·        Careless driving causing bodily harm

·        Drive motor vehicle - no licence

They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Provincial Offences Court in Owen Sound at a later date.
