Man charged with driving more than twice the speed limit on Hwy. 26

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist with stunt driving early Thursday morning on the Highway 26 realignment.

The charge came about when an officer conducting radar patrols on the Highway 26 realignment shortly after midnight found a car travelling at 184 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone. Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered that the male driver had consumed alcohol which led to a roadside breath test resulting in a 'warn' reading.

Charged is 21-year-old Brahamleen Singh Ishar of Etobicoke. He is charged with Highway Traffic Act offences of race a motor vehicle - excessive speed and drive motor vehicle - fail to display two plates. As well his vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence was suspended.

He is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Nov. 16 2018.
