Man arrested in series of break and enters

Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) have arrested a male in relation to break and enter incidents in Collingwood.

The incidents took place over the last few months at private residences on St-Lawrence Street and Birch Street as well as a business on Hume Street in Collingwood. Further to this, detectives also linked the accused to a theft from a business on First Street.

Charged is 33-year-old Mark West of Collingwood, he is charged with:

  • Two counts of Break, Enter Dwelling House, commit Indictable offence
  • One count of Break, Enter a Place - Commit Indictable Offence
  • Theft Under $5000
  • Three counts of Fail To Comply With Probation Order

He was held for a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.

Investigation is ongoing in regards to other break and enters that remain unsolved at this time.
