A Wasaga Beach man has been arrested after allegedly making threats against police.

On Tuesday, Huronia West OPP began investigating “serious threats” made against officers at the detachment on River Road West in Wasaga Beach. The threats are said to have been made over a period of 12 hours that day.

Barrie Police Service informed Huronia West OPP the same person had made similar threats toward police in that city, “as well as several other policing partners and individuals.”

The 33-year-old suspect has been charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, three counts of criminal harassment and one count each of harassing communication and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The accused is being held in custody pending a court appearance Thursday in Barrie.
