Man accused of wielding machete tasered by police

He's also accused of resisting arrest

SAUGEEN FIRST NATION - On Dec. 31, 2018 at 11:31 p.m., Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a Highway 21 residence, Saugeen First Nation for a weapons occurrence.

At the residence, police were confronted outside by a male with a machete. During the confrontation with the male, police discharged a conducted energy weapon (CEW). The male discarded the machete and was arrested by police. The male was searched by police and two more knives were found on the male.

Police have charged 47-year-old male, Emric Thompson of Saugeen First Nation with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC) and resist peace officer, section 129(a) CC.
