Impaired charge laid after vehicle stopped in traffic in Wasaga Beach

WASAGA BEACH - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for impaired operation as a result of a 9-1-1 call.

On Monday, July 26, 2021, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in a live lane near the intersection of Mosley Street and Beachwood Road.

Upon arriving, officers located an occupant in the driver's seat, noted signs of impairment and commenced an impaired driving investigation.

As a result, Kathleen Robb, 67-years-old, of Wasaga Beach, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Possession break-in instruments
  • Driving while under suspension

The driver was given a 90-day driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.

The OPP is committed to public safety and encourages anyone who suspects an impaired driver to call 9-1-1 immediately.
