Heavy police presence in Meaford related to report of weapon

The situation involved a domestic dispute with one person making threats against another person, say police

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged a 51-year-old woman in Meaford after officers were called to intervene in a domestic dispute. 

According to police, a call came in just after 3:39 p.m. on Jan. 20 for a domestic dispute in Meaford. 

"The investigation revealed that during the course of the dispute, one involved party had made threats toward another while in possession of a weapon, prompting a large police response," states a police release. 

This resulted in a heavy police presence in the area. The Meaford woman was arrested at 11:17 p.m., and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and breach of recognizance. 

The accused was kept in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.
