E-Bike driver faces impaired charges in Wasaga Beach

Police say they saw the 27-year-old make a traffic infraction the night of September 24

WASAGA BEACH – At 9:32 p.m. Sept. 24, 2021, a uniform OPP officer on patrol observed a traffic violation involving an E-Bike at the intersection of Golf Course Road and Klondike Road, Wasaga Beach. Upon speaking with the rider, the officer entered into a drinking and driving investigation resulting in Tyler Mitchell, 27 years old, of Wasaga Beach being charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released from police custody on a recognizance to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie on Oct. 19, 2021.

In addition, the E-Bike was impounded for 7 days along with receiving a 90 day drivers licence suspension on the spot as per the conditions set out in the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS).
