Driver identified after vehicle found submerged in water near Chesley

GREY COUNTY - On July 3, 2019 the Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended Grey Road 25, West of Highway 6 in the Township of Sullivan, Grey County, for a report of a single motor vehicle collision.  

On July 3, 2019 just before 8:30 a.m. Grey Bruce OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Grey Road 25 west of Highway 6 in the Township of Sullivan where a motor vehicle was found submerged in water. It is unknown at this time the direction of travel of the vehicle. Police were assisted at the scene by Bruce County Paramedics, Grey County Paramedics as well as the Chesley Fire Department. OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) is assisting in the investigation.

The sole occupant of the motor vehicle has been pronounced deceased. 

The victim has been identified as James Drummond, a 61-year-old of Grey Highlands, Ont.

Grey Road 25 between Concession 8 and Mulock Road was closed as a result of the collision and has since reopened.
