Driver faces impaired, drug charges after collision

On Dec. 27 at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male driver after investigating a collision at County Road 7 and 27-28 Sideroad in Clearview Township.

During the investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired. He was arrested and transported to the Huronia West detachment for breath tests. Two suitable samples of breath were provided. The vehicle was impounded for seven days and his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days.

Christos Trakas, 40, of Toronto, was charged with:

  • •CC 320.14(1)(b) Adult Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration - 80 plus
  • •CDSA 4(1) Adult Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Cocaine

He is to appear in Collingwood court on Jan. 22.
