A 22-year-old driver from Woodstock is facing multiple charges after police say the person failed to remain at the scene of a single-vehicle crash.

Collingwood OPP report a vehicle travelling on Highway 26 went off the road and hit a utility pole near the intersection near Grey Road 19 on Sept. 16. The collision did cause a power outage and road closure.

Police say the driver drove the damaged vehicle away from the scene, and was located at a parking lot on Grey Road 19.

The driver was charged with failing to remain, failing to report damage to property on a highway, and careless driving. The driver faces the charges in court on Oct. 25.
