Collingwood OPP charge man for sexual assault

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a male with sexual assault on a young person and believe there may be more potential victims in relation to the accused.

The sexual assault took place in mid-February 2022, at a residence in Collingwood and was recently reported to police. The investigation has now led to charges being laid against an adult male.

Charged is Samuel Stone, 20 years of age, from Springwater Township. He is charged with sexual interference and sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on June 7, 2022, to answer to the charges.

The OPP is reminding the public to always use caution and be aware of their personal safety at all times. You can report a sexual offence to police no matter how long ago it happened and someone can be charged for sexual assault.
