Collingwood man killed in Meaford crash

Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the man who died in a single-vehicle collision in Meaford last week was a 45-year-old Collingwood resident. 

Garnet Walker died after he was involved in the collision on Sept. 9 on Grey County Road 29 in the Municipality of Meaford. Police received the report of the collision around 11:40 p.m. 

Walker, the driver, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

An obituary for Walker notes he leaves behind a daughter, and an account has been set up to support her.  A celebration of life for Walker will take place this Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Collingwood Yacht Club from 5:30 p.m. until sunset. 

Grey Bruce OPP is still investigating the crash.
