GRAVENHURST - Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Gravenhurst Fire Department and Muskoka EMS responded to an incident on Lake Muskoka on March 4, 2019, shortly after midnight during which three snowmobiles and the five people riding them went through the ice and into the water.

Sadly, the incident claimed the lives of two young people – 15-year-old Alexander Martin of Gravenhurst and 11-year-old Mitchell Paris of Bracebridge.

The investigation is ongoing with the support of OPP Technical Collision Investigators, the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Bracebridge Crime Unit.
