SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIP - On Aug. 9, 2020, at 3:20 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint for a vehicle driving erratically on Russell Road, in Springwater Township. Multiple witnesses called in about the vehicle and updated officers on its location. Witnesses reported the vehicle was still being driven poorly after observing the driver and passenger switching seats.

Police located the vehicle as it entered the City of Barrie. Officers began an impaired driving investigation and both the driver and passenger were demanded to submit a roadside breath sample. Both registered a "FAIL".

As a result of the investigation, Istvan Fulop, 43 years of age, of Toronto, Ontario, was arrested and charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand, contrary to Section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code.

At 3:52 p.m., while on the way back to the detachment to complete the breath tests, Huronia West OPP received another traffic complaint, this time eastbound on Highway 26 near Strongville Road, in Clearview Township.

The witness reported the vehicle swerving all over the road and driving onto the gravel shoulder multiple times. The witness stopped with the vehicle at one point after having entered Springwater Township, and reported the female driver was aggressive toward them and appeared intoxicated. The witness continued to follow the vehicle until it was stopped by one of the officers who had just arrested one of the previous impaired drivers.

The officer entered into another impaired driving investigation and demanded the driver to submit a roadside breath sample. The driver's result was a "FAIL".

As a result of the second investigation, Robyn Jenkins, 42 years of age, of Barrie, Ontario, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code and dangerous operation, contrary to Section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Oct. 27, 2020.
