Toronto man charged with 2nd-degree murder after woman found dead at bottom of stairs

TORONTO — A 55-year-old man in Toronto has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after police received a call for a medical complaint.

Rose Di Pinto, 60, was found dead at the bottom of a set of stairs in Toronto's west end in the evening of Sept. 4.

After an autopsy was performed a few days later, the homicide unit took over the investigation.

Toronto police put out a warrant last week for John Di Pinto on second-degree murder.

They say he was arrested on Wednesday night and appeared in court Thursday morning.

Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them.
