It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend Olaf Wegener who died of natural causes at the age of 87.
Olaf is originally from Berlin Germany, and he enjoyed his new life in Canada to the fullest. He especially enjoyed the great outdoors, camping, canoeing, and fishing were his passion and Olaf eventually moved to Collingwood to be near one of the great lakes he loved so much.
Olaf’s parents Kurt Paul Wegener and Else Christine Wegener (nee Dieck) including his sister Karin Wichmann and brother Lutz Wegener are buried in Germany. He is survived by his nephew Alexander Wichmann in Germany. Cremation has taken place and Olaf's remains will be sent back to Germany to be back with his dear loving family.
