“Cherish yesterday, live today, dream tomorrow”

With sadness, we announce the passing of Phil Walker of Wasaga Beach, suddenly, at his home on Friday, October 15, 2021 in his 73rd year. Phil was the beloved partner and best friend of Erica Clark. Loving father of Trisha Jacome (nee Walker), Glen Walker, of Barrie, ON, and Kelly Rempel (nee Walker) of Baden, ON. Cherished grandfather of Alexander Walker, Angela and Philip Jacome, (Julissa Appleyard), Wyatt, Jack and Maya Rempel. Predeceased by his brother David Walker.

He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and many friends throughout the automotive industry in Ontario, as well as the Barrie Country Club and beyond. Phil recently retired as a successful Dealer Principal at Collingwood Hyundai, which opened its doors in 2011; as well as prior Dealer Principal of Barrie Ford and Huronia Ford.   A solid figure within the Barrie and Collingwood communities for most of his life, he had enjoyed a brief retirement to the Bahamas in 1998.    Phil was ever driven to mentor and support his family, friends and staff.  Phil filled his life with family, friends, businesses, boating, golfing, playing drums in blues/rock bands, traveling, motor cycling, bowling, and the occasional scotch.  He made a point of enjoying every minute of every day.  Phil will be sorely missed.

Per Phil’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phil to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, St. Mikes Hospital in Toronto or Home Horizons of Collingwood would be greatly appreciated by the family.
