Walter Soutar passed away on November 21st after a life well lived full of strong friendships long laughs and too many fond memories to count.

Born in Govan, Scotland, Walter served his apprenticeship at the Royal Naval Torpedo Factory in Alexandria Scotland, before immigrating to Canada in 1971 to start his family.

Walter will be remembered lovingly by his wife Barbara his sons Blair and Andrew his sister Margaret (Vincent) brothers Gordon, Ian (Merlyn) and Sinclair (Sue).

Walter had an extremely quick wit that was often coupled with a quicker one-liner. He was well read and even more well-spoken. He was loved dearly by all who had the chance to know him.

Walter was larger than life and will be remembered that way.

A celebration of life will take place at OslerBrook Golf and Country Club on Monday December 3rd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with remembrances at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome. If desired in lieu of flowers donations in Walter Soutar’s name can be made to Hospice Georgian Triangle – Campbell House or the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie.
