Rhena Petch passed away peacefully at Campbell House, Collingwood on April 29, 2023, in her 98th year.

Rhena was born in Meaford, Ontario on October 24, 1925, to Herman and Muriel Petch. She lived a full and interesting life taking up many amazing opportunities as they presented themselves. Her teaching career took her to Toronto, Germany, Manitoba, and Korea. She enjoyed travel especially in Europe and there are memorable road trips coast to coast in Canada.  She enjoyed her last seven years at Raglan Village making new friends.

Rhena was a longtime member of Yorkminster Park Baptist Church in Toronto. She was a member of the choir and made many cherished friends there. Since moving to Collingwood, she attended First Presbyterian Church. Her faith was evident in the peace she experienced in her final weeks.

Rhena is survived by her dear sister Lynda Wood of Rexdale, brother-in-law Edmund Shaw of Thornbury and sister-in-law Marie Petch of Owen Sound. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews and their families and many special friends. Predeceased by her parents, brothers Floyd and John and sisters Carol Enid Bensen and Donna Shaw.

The family would like to thank Raglan Village staff for the many kindnesses shown to Rhena, and Collingwood Hospital staff and Campbell House for the compassionate care given.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service and reception Wednesday May 10, 2023, at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church, Collingwood.

Memorial Donations to Yorkminster Park Baptist Church or First Presbyterian Church, Collingwood or planting a memorial tree would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Friends may visit Rhena’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
