October 18, 1943 – January 3, 2022

Ken Monaghan “Kenny” – a helper to hundreds, a mentor to many, and a friend to all – passed away January 3rd at the age of 78 years.

Born October 18, 1943, in Collingwood, ON and was a loving son to Noreen and stepfather Wyburn Klinck (deceased). Kenny was a farm born from the beginning to end. He grew up in Feversham and had a love for gardening and growing plants and moving dirt. He married his beloved Joan (nee Service) on January 4, 1969, and they raised their two boys together in Collingwood. Ken honed his excavating craft from BC to Alberta to Ontario and started his own construction company in the 1970’s in this small town. He made many friends and especially Neil and Alvin Currie and his golf partner Jimmy Bruce.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan of 53 years. He was a wonderful father to Garry and his wife Lori and Glenn and his wife Beam as well as a loving grandfather to Andrew, Ashley, Vince, Lauren, and Madison. He will be dearly missed by his brothers Norris (Gail – deceased), Tom (Bea), George (Mickey) and sisters Carolyn (Stu) and Jeannie (Kim) along with many nieces, nephews, the Service family, and friends.

Ken will be best known for his storytelling, his ability to make you laugh, his willingness to extend a helping hand, and his easy-going nature.

Many thanks to the caring staff members of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held in his honour at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre – Cancer Care would be appreciated by the family.  Friends may visit Ken’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com.
