It is with profound sadness that the family of Mary Jean McIntosh announces her sudden passing on April 3, 2023, at the age of 65.
Mary Jean was predeceased by her parents, George and Jean (nee Smith) of Collingwood. She was survived by her brother Peter (Mona) of Stayner and her uncle John W. Smith (Sharon) of Collingwood. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her many cousins and friends.
MJ or Ms. Mac as she was affectionately known, was an accomplished musician – playing several instruments including the piano, clarinet, and flute. She had a long career as a high school music teacher and school Librarian with the Simcoe Country District School Board; working the majority of her career at Banting Memorial High School, in Alliston.
Cremation has taken place with a celebration of life planned for August 12, 2023 at 1:00 pm, at Fawcett Funeral Home in Collingwood. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made, in MJ’s memory, to Diabetes Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
