MacKenzie, Shirlea passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of family on Wednesday December 19, 2018 in her 88th year. Shirlea, will now be reunited with her beloved husband Laurrie.
She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her sons Kim (Penni), Kirk, Walter and Mark (Lynda); her grandchildren Corinne, Derek (Stephanie), Dennis (Lindsay), Sarah (Robert), Kirsten (Michael), Matthew and Kailum and her 11 great grandchildren. Born March 3, 1931 in Toronto to parents Walter and Irene Young; predeceased by her brother Walter ‘Sonny’ Young and sister Ann Sheila Young, she will be remembered by her sister in law Sheryl.
A private family service will be held followed by a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion Collingwood at 1 p.m. on Saturday February 2, 2019. In lieu of flowers donations to the Rameses Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund (cheques may be forwarded to Fawcett Funeral Home) or Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides would be appreciated.
