Peacefully at Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood, surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, December 11, 2020, in her 92nd year. Formerly of Glasgow, Scotland and Scarborough, ON, Maureen and Jim moved to Wasaga Beach in 1993, where they enjoyed many years together. Dad even got Mum to golf! Maureen is predeceased by her beloved husband, late Jim of 55 years, and sons late John (survived by Janette) and late Gerald (survived by Leslie). Devoted Mother of Jim (Sandy), Maureen Coburn (Rick) and David (Karen). Precious Gran of Caitlin (Mike), Lucy (Marc), William (Vanessa), Jimmy (Mariam), John, Barbie (Charlie, Lily and Piper), Susie (Rian, Lewis and Levi), Aidan, Natalie, Steve (Jessica, River and Colten), and David (Bev, Kristian and Avril). Predeceased by loving parents, brothers and sisters, and many dear family and friends. Maureen will be dearly missed by Margaret Nicolson and many other family and friends in Canada, Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand. Longtime employee of Scarborough General Hospital and volunteer with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Grateful thanks to Joan for being there, Dr. Tessa Kitai for always being there for the Maureens, Dr. Alyssa Boyd, Dr. Collings and Dr. Quigg. Thank you to the staff of CGMH and especially to the staff at Hospice Georgian Triangle and Campbell House for their exemplary kindness and care......words are not enough. For all the support from our friends and extended family, we can never express how much you mean to us. Friends will be received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Wednesday, December 16 from 6 to8 p.m., Vigil Prayers at 7 p.m.. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 17, 2020 at 1 o’clock at e St- Noel Chabanel Catholic Church, 133 Dunkerron Ave., Wasaga Beach. Please use the RSVP system on the funeral home website to schedule your visitation time arrival and to confirm if you plan to attend the Mass.  Space is limited within the facilities and failure to RSVP may omit you from attending.  Spring interment Wasaga Beach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation or the St Vincent de Paul Society would be greatly appreciated.
