Died suddenly on Wednesday December 9, 2020 at the North Bay General Hospital at the age of 85.  Walt of Corbeil, formerly of Stayner and Brantford, beloved husband of the late Rose Harris (nee McNichol) for over 57 years.  Loving father of Mark and his wife Melanie.  Cherished Papa of Brandon (Erin) and Nathaniel.  He will also be missed by his sister Norma Ford and his twin brother Wilfred Harris. Predeceased by his older brother George Harris and his parents Charles and Lottie (Dolly) Harris.   Walt grew up in Brantford and worked at Hussmann's for 46 years.  In his younger days he was a Boy Scout achieving Queen Scout status and later becoming a Scouter at Holy Trinity Church. He also spent time with the St John’s Brigade in Brantford.  Walton was a Gunner with 56 FD for a few years and during the 80s he was a CIC officer with the 2659 Cadet Corp where later he became the Commanding Officer.  He was a Lacrosse coach with Brantford Minor Lacrosse and a Hockey coach and convener with Brantford minor hockey.   He enjoyed the great outdoors as a camper, golfer, hunter and an avid fisherman.  He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends. Family and friends will gather at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Tuesday December 15, 2002 at 12 noon.  Interment Stayner Union Cemetery.  If desired, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
