Gresham

November 30, 1928 – October 14, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce that the matriarch of our family slipped away peacefully at Campbell House (Hospice Georgian Triangle) after a brief illness, just weeks before her 93rd birthday. Her family was so grateful to be able to spend precious time with her in her final days. Her children are Jennifer (Guy) Hutcheson and Laurie (Armand – deceased 2014) Lamoureux, both of Collingwood, Ontario; Paul (Jean) Gresham and Bruce (Sandy) Gresham, both of Burlington, Ontario and Jeff (Karen) Gresham of Carnwood, Alberta. Marg had 9 grandchildren (Becky, Calley; Andrew, Will, Emily; Ryan, Trevor; Connor, Brandon) and 5 great-grandchildren (Bella, Lilly, Daisy; William, Annie) who were her pride and joy. Nothing made her happier than being with her family.

Born in Winnipeg, Marg was the youngest of 5 siblings, all now deceased. Marg attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate where she met her high school sweetheart, William Burton Gresham (deceased 2016). Marg and Burt were married in 1948. They lived in Winnipeg, where they raised their 5 children. The family moved to Oakville, Ontario in 1972. Great family times were spent cottaging or camping at Victoria Beach and Bird Lake, Manitoba, and at Blue Lake Provincial Park, Ontario; curling, touring on snowmobiles and winter camping were highlights of the cold season.

Marg volunteered with the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital Auxiliary for over 40 years. One of her hobbies was sewing, and she excelled at it. She enjoyed the company of many friends in Winnipeg and Oakville, including Donald Lush who was a special companion for twenty years before his passing in 2007.

The family would like to thank the staff, fellow residents and new friends at Raglan Village Retirement Community (Collingwood) for their kindness and companionship during the five years Margaret lived there. Also, special thanks to the staff of Campbell House for their incredibly compassionate care during Marg’s final days.

Our family will gather for a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in her name to Hospice Georgian Triangle. To leave a message or share a memory, please visit www.affordablecremation.ca
