It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Mary Theresa Dean August 24, 2021, in her 84th year after a lengthy illness at her Collingwood, Ontario residence. Mom was surrounded by her family when she passed. Predeceased by her parent’s Daniel and Mary McIntyre (nee Organ) of North Sydney. Theresa was also predeceased by much loved aunts Cass, Marg and Hazel. Theresa graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital, North Sydney, Cape Breton in 1959 as a Registered Nurse. She had a long career in nursing and achieved specialization in geriatric care from McMaster University. Theresa spent the remainder of her career at Sunset Manor, Collingwood in special care. Theresa had many interests; an avid reader and amateur British historian, Canadian politics, gardening and travelling and always Cape Breton music.
Theresa spent many years living away from Cape Breton, but she never forgot where she came from. She returned often to visit family and her nursing sisters. The Cape and the people were always true to her heart.
Theresa is survived by her loving husband Harold (married 61 years), her children, Marty, Danielle, Kim and special granddaughter Erika and many other grandchildren, great grandchildren. Cherished by surviving uncles Phillip, and Jack, and aunts Geraldine and Ann.
Well done Mom! We will see you when we see you!
