It is with sweet sorrow that we announce the passing of David Hale Burland on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at the Collingwood General & Marine Hospital, in his 90th year. David, of Wasaga Beach, is survived by his loving wife Janet (nee MacMurchy-Sandell) and predeceased by his first wife Jane (nee Farquharson). He will be remembered as the proud and loving father of Karen Burland, Nonie French (Armand Attar), and Diane Burland. David will be deeply missed by Janet’s children Cyndy (Peter) Tyndall, Janice (Scott) Clair, and Nancy (Bill) Ironside. Forever cherished by his grandchildren Jillian, Beverly, Courtney, Tommy, Marina, Emma, Joel, Allie, Cassandra, Jessica, Katie and Kelly and five great grandchildren.

Born May 12, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec to parents Naomi Lucille “Mona” and C. Benjamin Robins Burland, David is survived by his sister Lucille (Robert) Wahlstrom and predeceased by his brothers George and Haskell (late Barbara) Burland.

David truly cherished the time spent in the Laurentians on Lac Ouimet, with his family at their beloved Gray Rocks Inn.  He will be missed by his Wheeler cousins, their families and many friends.

In the mid-seventies, employment at Kaufman Furniture brought David and his family to the area. As a manager at the factory, David developed a love for woodworking - a hobby that he shared and passed on to his family.

He spent twelve years before his retirement in Bobcaygeon operating his marina, Centre Point Landing. The marina was true to its name, as it quickly became the spot for family and friends to gather and create lasting memories.

David will be remembered for his kindness and welcoming, generous spirit.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. To honour his memory, donations may be made to your charity of choice. Friends may visit David’s online Book of Memories at www.fawcettfuneralhomes.com
