Auctioneers Inc. to buy vehicle auction company IAA Inc. In a letter to the Ritchie Bros. board, Janus Henderson Investors said it believes the deal would introduce a level of unnecessary risk for Ritchie Bros. shareholders. The firm, which is an investment adviser to clients and funds that hold Ritchie Bros. shares, said IAA's business has been losing market share over the last several years and may be structurally disadvantaged compared to its main competitor, Copart. The letter Monday comes after investment firm Luxor Capital Group LP said it is opposed to the deal.

The companies involved in the Rogers Communications Inc. deal to buy Shaw Communications have extended the deadline to complete the transaction. Rogers, Shaw, the Shaw Family Living Trust and Quebecor Inc. said they have extended the deadline to Feb. 17 from Tuesday. If approved, the deal will see Rogers acquire Shaw, while Quebecor's Videotron subsidiary will acquire Shaw's Freedom Mobile wireless business. The agreement is still waiting for approval by Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne, who must sign off on the transfer of wireless spectrum licences from Shaw to Videotron.
