Collingwood Clippers compete at MAC Winter Invitational

Represent proudly and capably at Markham Pan Am Centre in Unionville

The Collingwood Clippers Swim Club was proudly represented at the 2019 MAC Winter Invitational (January 10th-13th) hosted by the Markham Aquatic Club at the Markham Pan Am Centre in Unionville, Ontario.

CCSC had 15 swimmers compete over three days of the invitational swim meet. Qualifying times were Swim Ontario Festival ‘E’ Time Standards for 12 & under swimmers and Swim Ontario Age Group ‘D’ Time Standards for 13 & over swimmers.

This Invitational brought together 29 clubs from across Ontario as well as a visiting club from Iowa, USA. As a club, the Collingwood Clippers took off a total of 321.52 seconds, qualified for 30 final swims, broke 7 long course club records and won 5 medals! Way to go swimmers!


Piper Mitchell: Girls 12y/o category - 50m backstroke silver, 200m butterfly silver, 200m individual medley silver and 200m backstroke gold.

Jillian Fawcett: Girls 14y/o category - 50m breaststroke bronze.

Cole Mitchell: Boys 15&over category - 100m freestyle 57.16 (previous 58.68 - 2002 tied 2013), 50m backstroke 29.59 (previous 30.10 - 2018), 100m backstroke 1:02.44 (previous 1:03.19 - 2013) & 200m backstroke 2:14.83 (previous 2:18.93 - 2003).

Piper Mitchell: Girls 11-12 y/o category - 50m backstroke 34.29 (previous 35.68 - 2017), 100m backstroke 1:14.39 (previous 1:14.98 - 2012) & 200 individual medley 2:40.86 (2:42.86 - 1995).
