The Collingwood Blues have kept the good times going with their second win at the Centennial Cup tournament in Manitoba.
The Blues earned a 3-1 win Saturday over the Battlefords North Stars to improve to 2-0 at the Canadian National Hockey League championship tournament.
The Blues’ first goal of the night came 13 minutes into the first period by Cam Garvey, with an assist by Mark McIntosh.
While the second period yielded no goals, the third period was a nail-biter with a goal by Blues’ Ayden Dooley (assisted by Owen Sclisizzi) at the 4:30 mark, one by the Stars’ Steven Kesslering (assisted by Tanner Gold and Alex Izyk) at about the nine-minute mark and one by Blues’ Spencer Young (assisted by Carter Diceman and Owen Sclisizzi) at the 17:26 mark.

Blues goalie Noah Pak shone between the pipes, making 36 saves. Battlefords’ goalie Josh Kotai also had 31 saves.
The Blues will play game three on Tuesday, May 16 at 12:30 p.m. ET against the Kam River Fighting Walleye.
The series runs from May 11 to 21 at Stride Arena in Portage la Prairie, Man. The winner of the series will take home the Centennial Cup and be the 2023 Canadian National Hockey League champions.
