If you received an email suggesting your Collingwood Public Library account had been shut down, it's spam, and your account is fine.

Collingwood Public Library posted on Facebook yesterday announcing it had received "several" emails regarding people's accounts being shut down.

"It turns out a spam email has been sent from 'Rogers,' but the library email is being used as the reply contact," states the library's Facebook post.

Staff plan to respond to each of the emails they have received.

The library staff are also reminding people to be aware of phishing scams and do not click on links in unexpected emails.
