Ready to rumble?

Rock Solid Wrestling is making its return to Collingwood on June 4 after a nearly three-year hiatus.

Wrestling Night in Collingwood 9 takes place at the Collingwood Curling Club with all proceeds benefiting the local chapter of the Special Olympics.

Prior to the pandemic, the Wrestling Night in Collingwood series was an annual event that raised thousands of dollars that helps pay for uniforms, travel expenses and fees for the local Special Olympics athletes.

The main event of the evening will be a 20-person rumble for the Canadian Heavyweight Championship. The rumble starts with two competitors, and every 60 seconds a new participant enters the fray. Elimination occurs when a wrestler is tossed over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The last person remaining after all 20 have entered will be declared the winner.

Some of the entrants into the rumble include former Canadian champion Cody Deaner, local favourites Scotty the Body and “Irish” Jake O’Reilly as well as top Ontario stars Tyler Tirva, Daddy Davis, Tornado and KC Spinelli.

Tickets are available at Play It Again Sports in Collingwood or Mini Majors Pharmacy in Wasaga Beach or online at rocksolidwrestling.tickit.ca.
