Good morning and welcome to your brand new source for all things Collingwood.

Starting right now, CollingwoodToday.ca is your go-to site for up-to-the-minute local news, features on community leaders and events, business openings and everything in between.

It’s all available to you when you want it, on your smartphone, desktop and tablet, along with obituaries, weather, and online flyers.

“We believe that locally driven news is essential to communities. That’s why we’ve started or helped launch more than 11 digital news sites in communities just like Collingwood within the past few years – communities that in some cases were also told their local newspaper didn’t factor into someone else’s bottom line,” said Jeff Elgie, CEO of Village Media. “We are proud to be extremely community-minded and cover important stories in your city. We have a great team in place and look forward to becoming an integrated part of the community’s daily news.”

Scroll down the Local News feed and you’ll see award-winning local journalist Erika Engel has already been hard at work.

Erika, backed up by a freelance team that includes Gisele Winton-Sarvis, will bring you what you need to know, when you need to know it.

Village Media is also pleased to announce that Stuart Snelgrove has joined the team as an account executive.

CollingwoodToday.ca joins OrilliaMatters.com and BarrieToday.com as part of a growing Simcoe County team that includes John Hammill, regional publisher, and Nicole Parkes, regional sales manager.

CollingwoodToday.ca is part of the Village Media network, one of the largest in the province with significant reach across northern Ontario.
