Help centre available at library to assist with internet or telephone voting

The Voting Period for the 2018 Municipal Election will be opening soon, and electors can expect to start receiving their Voter Information letter in the mail this week.

Collingwood residents will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for one Mayor, one Deputy Mayor, and up to seven Councillors for Collingwood Council, as well as a school board trustee. Voting will open at 10 a.m. on Oct. 12 and will run until 8 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2018. 

Collingwood voters along with its neighbouring municipalities will cast their ballot using the internet or telephone. These methods provide flexibility, which allows for a longer voting period than traditional voting.

It is also more convenient, more accessible, and better enables electors to exercise their right to vote, offers complete security and anonymity with results available quicker and with complete accuracy.

If you require access to the internet or a touch-tone phone, or just need a little guidance in voting using the internet or telephone, a help centre will be provided at the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood where you can attend in person and vote if you choose. Please remember to bring your photo identification, and proof of your qualifying address.   

  • Friday, Oct. 12 (10 a.m. - 8 p.m.)
  • Monday, Oct. 15 to Friday Oct. 19 (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
  • Saturday, Oct. 20 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
  • Sunday, Oct. 21 (1 p.m. - 4 p.m.)
  • Election Day - Monday, Oct. 22 (8:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.) 

Additional Help Centre dates and times may be added throughout the Voting Period and will be posted on the municipal website.
 
Free internet access is available at the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste. Marie Street, Collingwood.
