The Voting Period for the 2018 Municipal Election will be opening soon, and electors can expect to start receiving their Voter Information letter in the mail this week.

Collingwood residents will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for one Mayor, one Deputy Mayor, and up to seven Councillors for Collingwood Council, as well as a school board trustee. Voting will open at 10 a.m. on Oct. 12 and will run until 8 p.m. on Oct. 22, 2018.

Collingwood voters along with its neighbouring municipalities will cast their ballot using the internet or telephone. These methods provide flexibility, which allows for a longer voting period than traditional voting.

It is also more convenient, more accessible, and better enables electors to exercise their right to vote, offers complete security and anonymity with results available quicker and with complete accuracy.

A full list of candidates is available online.

If you require access to the internet or a touch-tone phone, or just need a little guidance in voting using the internet or telephone, a help centre will be provided at the Collingwood Public Library, 55 Ste.
