Following the success of the County’s first Virtual Job Fair in June 2021, the County and area partners are offering a second online “Work in Simcoe County” Job Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Data collected from the County of Simcoe’s Work in Simcoe County website, workinsimcoecounty.ca, shows that in the month of September, there were 9,523 active job openings in our region.
The Virtual Job Fair is an opportunity to connect job seekers and local employers, such as Friday Harbour, Horseshoe Resort, MacLean Engineering, Tempo Plastics, Paradigm Precision, Reinhart Foods, Kubota Materials Canada, Community Builders Construction, County of Simcoe, City of Barrie, City of Orillia and Sienna Senior Living.
The event will be hosted on an interactive, user-friendly platform where job seekers and employers can connect through one-on-one text chat, audio and video.
Employment opportunities will be offered in the following sectors: manufacturing and distribution; agriculture and food processing; healthcare and social assistance; transportation; hospitality and tourism; construction and the trades; education and training; and professional services.
Registered employers will have the opportunity to create a virtual booth and view the profiles of job seekers. There is no cost to participate but space is limited. Job seekers are encouraged to register early to view companies and job opportunities in advance of the event.
Job seekers can also access 1:1 support from Employment Ontario partners in advance of the event, including free assistance with resume writing, developing a job search plan and preparing for interviews.
The Virtual Job Fair is limited to those employers offering employment within the 16 member municipalities of the County of Simcoe and the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia.
The Virtual Job Fair is being brought to you by the County of Simcoe in collaboration with member municipalities, the Cities of Barrie and Orillia, Georgian College, Lakehead University, Employment Ontario and the Province of Ontario.
