The Town of Collingwood will be receiving a one-time payment of $595,703 from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing in the 2018-2019 fiscal year. This payment is intended to support Collingwood’s efforts in continuing to be efficient, modern, and customer focused.

This investment is unconditional, but the province has stated intentions for this payment to help modernize service delivery and reduce future costs through investments in projects such as: service delivery reviews, development of shared services agreements, and capital investments.

“We are excited to have the province recognize the key role Collingwood plays in service delivery,” says Mayor Brian Saunderson, “Council and Town Staff will review opportunities as we receive more details on this provincial funding.”

This allocation to Collingwood was based on a formula that took into consideration the number of households in Collingwood. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing acknowledged Collingwood’s commitment to demonstrating value for money and delivering many services that Ontario residents rely on.
