There's extra time to submit comments ahead of the Town of Collingwood's 2022 budget discussions.

The public survey deadline has been extended to Sept. 26 from the previous Sept. 20 deadline.

Residents are encouraged to fill out an online survey about the 2022 budget and what spending priorities should be included.

The town’s total 2021 budget was $100 million, with about 60 per cent of that allocated to operating costs. Taxation covered $35.2 million of the town’s total budget in 2021.

According to timelines outlined in a staff report, council could see a first draft of the overall budget during their strategic initiatives standing committee meeting on Oct. 25. Second and third drafts are expected in November, with a public budget meeting planned for the week of Dec. 13 and formal budget approval on Dec. 20.
