Town, county holding first annual Week of Welcome in Collingwood

June 16 event will provide information for new and longtime residents

In collaboration with the County of Simcoe, the Town of Collingwood will be part of the first annual Week of Welcome, hosting a full-day event open to all, on Friday, June 16 at the Collingwood Curling Club.

The Week of Welcome event is a perfect opportunity for individuals and families new to Collingwood and long-standing residents to learn about the services and supports available.

Meet your members of council during the political welcome and talk with town staff to ask questions about programs and services at the municipal fair. Learn from the experiences of newcomers to Canada as part of the immigrant entrepreneur panel and meet with community-based programs as the social service fair.

Program schedule:

  • 10 to 10:30 a.m., political welcome
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., municipal service fair
  • 1 to 2 p.m., immigrant entrepreneur panel
  • 2 to 4 p.m., social service fair

Five events are scheduled throughout the week, including June 12 in Innisfil, June 13 in New Tecumseth, June 14 in Orillia, June 15 in Barrie, and June 16 in Collingwood. For more information on all the events, visit simcoe.ca/wow.
